1. About HobbyDetective and these Terms
HobbyDetective is operated by HD NEXT IKE, a private company registered in Greece, with registered address at Pindarou 4, Thessaloniki 54639, VAT number 802577241, General Commercial Registry (GEMI) number 178921006000, telephone +30 698 386 7651 and contact email [email protected] (“HobbyDetective”, “we”, “us”).
These Terms govern access to and use of hobbydetective.gr, its customer and provider accounts, marketplace, booking, communication, subscription, artificial-intelligence (AI) and e-shop features (together, the “Platform”). Separate policies or commercial terms shown during a transaction form part of the agreement for that specific service.
2. Definitions and acceptance
A “Customer” is a person who searches, contacts a Provider, books an offering, joins a waitlist or purchases a product or package. A “Participant” is the person who takes part in an offering, who may be the Customer or someone the Customer books for, such as a child. A “Provider” (also called a “partner” on the Platform) is a business, professional, organisation, association or other body that publishes listings, supplies activities or sells products. A “Listing” is any offering published on the Platform. “Content” includes listings, profiles, messages, reviews, images, videos and other material submitted to the Platform.
By creating an account, selecting an acceptance checkbox, publishing Content, booking, purchasing or otherwise using a feature governed by these Terms, you agree to the provisions that apply to you. If you act for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the relevant feature.
3. The Platform’s marketplace role
HobbyDetective provides online intermediation, discovery, communication, booking and payment technology. Unless a checkout page expressly identifies HobbyDetective as the supplier, the contract for an activity, space rental, event, excursion, programme, volunteering opportunity, package or product is concluded directly between the Customer and the identified Provider or seller. HobbyDetective is the supplier only of its own services, such as the use of the Platform for which the Customer pays the service fee described in section 11, and Provider plans.
The Provider is responsible for performing the offering, product conformity and safety, professional licences, insurance, consumer information, invoices or receipts, taxes and compliance with applicable law. HobbyDetective remains responsible for its own Platform services and obligations. We may assist with communication or complaints, but we do not replace either party to the underlying contract.
Providers offer their services and products on the Platform in the course of an economic activity and are treated as traders: whatever their legal form — including associations, non-profit organisations and freelancers — they must comply with consumer-protection law in their dealings with Customers, including the information duties and the Customer rights described in section 14.
4. Eligibility, accounts and security
You must provide accurate, current information and use the Platform only for lawful purposes. You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may book, buy or pay only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian. Children under 15 may not have their own account; a parent or guardian may add them as participants to their own account and book for them. Providers must have legal capacity and all authorisations required to offer their services or products.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure. Do not share an account, except through authorised provider team features or by connecting Customer accounts as the Platform allows (for example, to share a package with a family member). Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access. Customers may choose Google sign-in, in which case Google authenticates the account and we receive the account data described in our Privacy Policy.
Access by our team. Authorised members of the HobbyDetective team may access a user's account through a logged support function — including viewing the account as the user sees it and carrying out actions in it — only in order to provide support the user has requested, to set up or manage listings at a Provider's request, to investigate a technical problem, fraud, a security incident or a breach of these Terms, or where the law requires it. Every such access is recorded.
5. Provider registration and verification
Providers must submit truthful business, identity, contact, tax and payment information. A Provider account becomes active once its email address is verified, and listings are published when the Provider activates them and they meet the Platform's completeness checks; there is no prior review by HobbyDetective. We may at any time request supporting documents, verify information, reject or suspend an account or a listing in accordance with section 22, or require approval before enabling certain features. Activation of an account, a listing or a payment account is not an endorsement, certification or guarantee of a Provider: HobbyDetective does not verify the qualifications, licences, insurance or safety measures of Providers.
At a business's request, our team may create a Provider account, enter its details or prepare and publish listings on its behalf, based on the information the business gives us. The business must check that information when it first accesses its account, correct anything inaccurate and confirm its acceptance of these Terms; it is responsible for the Content published on its behalf.
Providers must keep their public identity and contact details accurate. They are responsible for team members invited to their workspace, for the permissions they give them and for removing access when it is no longer authorised. Team members can act for the Provider only while the Provider's plan includes team features.
Where several Providers operate from the same venue, the Platform may display them together on the venue's page, and, after a request, mutual acceptance and our approval, under a shared public brand and a shared public profile. Every such connection requires the confirmation of the Provider already at the venue and our approval. Under a shared brand, the member Providers can edit the shared public profile (description, category, links and frequently asked questions); every change is notified to the others and can be undone. Shared display or branding does not create a joint business or a joint account: each Provider remains independent, contracts alone for its own listings, bookings and sales, and gains no access to the others' private data. Either side may end the connection at any time as described in the Platform.
6. Listings and Provider responsibilities
Providers may publish activities, space rentals, events, excursions, youth programmes, volunteering opportunities, corporate activities offered on request, packages and, where the e-shop is available to them, products. Every listing must be accurate, complete, up to date and not misleading. The Provider must clearly disclose the supplier identity, essential characteristics, eligibility or age rules, schedule, location or online delivery, final price, capacity, safety requirements, cancellation terms and any material restriction. Age ranges and other participation rules shown on a listing are information supplied by the Provider; the Platform does not check them automatically at booking, so the Provider remains responsible for checking eligibility.
Providers must have the rights and permissions needed for names, descriptions, images, videos and other uploaded material. Draft or inactive listings are not public. Listing texts are translated automatically into the Platform's other language (section 16). We may require completion of mandatory fields, correct obvious errors, request evidence, reject publication, unpublish or remove a listing that breaches these Terms or the law, in accordance with section 18.
7. Search, ranking, distribution and promotions
Search and discovery results include only active listings of active Provider accounts, of listing types that are open to the public and, for listings with dates, that have at least one date that has not yet passed; on the English site, only listings with an English title appear. Results may then be narrowed by the filters the Customer selects, such as keyword, location and radius or map area, listing type, category, date and availability, price, number of participants, time of day, age group, delivery mode, amenities and payment methods.
The default “relevance” order works as follows. When a search term is entered, each listing receives a match score, highest first: a match in the title weighs most, then in the category, then in the listing's tags (keywords), and in the description least. Listings that match only on the Provider's name or on other listing details are included with the lowest score. The search also recognises spelling variants, Greeklish and synonyms, certain phrases (such as “for families”) act as filters, and, if a search finds nothing, it may be repeated with a corrected spelling. Listings with equal scores — and all listings when no search term is entered — are then ordered by distance band from the searched place, where a place is given; so that every Provider appears before any Provider appears a second time; and finally in a random order drawn for each visit, which stays the same while the Customer moves between the pages of the same search. The Customer may instead sort by price (ascending or descending), distance, newest (by creation date) or a random discovery selection. Other lists on the Platform, such as the rows of the home page, follow the same principles: listings near the visitor or the selected city, one per Provider first and in random order, and dated listings by nearest date. In the Provider directory, Providers with at least one published listing appear first, by distance band where a place is given and then in random order; the Customer may instead sort by distance, rating (the average of reviews) or newest. Product lists in the e-shop show the newest products first unless the Customer sorts by price.
No payment, plan or commission influences the order of results, and there is no paid featured placement on the Platform today; if such placement is introduced, it will be clearly marked as promoted. The Provider's plan does affect what is displayed: for example, public contact details, videos, frequently asked questions and the corporate-activities page are available only with a paid plan (section 15). We also offer Providers, for a fee and under a separate agreement, the creation and management of promotional campaigns outside the Platform's results (for example on Google and on social media); these do not affect ranking. We may distribute or promote Provider Content through HobbyDetective pages, social channels, search engines and advertising campaigns for operating or marketing the Platform. We do not operate an undisclosed affiliate distribution programme.
8. Booking modes, interest requests and chat
Depending on the Provider's settings and plan, a listing may: show information without online booking; take bookings online through the Platform, paid or free; take participation requests (interest requests) that the Provider answers; or, with Premium Plus, send the Customer to the Provider's own website to book. Participation requests and different booking modes per listing or section are available only on paid plans. A booking made on a Provider's own website is concluded outside the Platform, and the booking, payment and cancellation provisions of these Terms do not apply to it. Corporate activities are requested from the Provider through a quote request.
A chat message, interest request or quote request is not a confirmed booking and does not reserve capacity. A booking exists only when the Platform or the Provider confirms it through the applicable flow. Signed-in Customers can message a Provider about any listing; Providers reply within the conversation. Attachments can be exchanged only with Providers on a paid plan.
Providers must respond honestly and must not use contact details or messages for unrelated marketing without a lawful basis. Users must not send spam, abusive content, unlawful material or unsafe links through chat or inquiry features.
9. Bookings, availability and attendance
Displayed availability can change until a booking is confirmed. The Platform rechecks schedule, closures, capacity, package status and price when a booking or reschedule request is submitted. A stale screen, waitlist position or unfinished checkout does not guarantee a place. A booking awaiting online card payment holds the place until the payment is completed or the payment session expires (currently 24 hours, or about 30 minutes for space rentals); if it is not paid, it is cancelled automatically.
Customers must provide correct participant information, observe the Provider's age, health, equipment, conduct and safety requirements, arrive on time, and inform the Provider of relevant needs where appropriate. For online sessions, the access link is shown only to booked Customers and must not be shared. Providers are responsible for delivering the confirmed service and maintaining accurate schedules, capacities, facilities and attendance records; the Provider records attendance and no-shows in the Platform.
10. Prices, packages and discounts
Prices, included sessions or credits, validity, participant tiers and restrictions are shown before confirmation and are determined from current server records. Booking and package prices are shown as final amounts and include VAT where it is due. The only amounts that may be added at checkout, where they apply, are: a registration fee that the Provider sets for new students of an activity, charged per enrolling participant either once or once per school year (September to August); and, on online card payments, the “Service fee” described in section 11. Each is shown as a separate line before the booking or purchase is completed. Where the Provider has set the registration fee “on request”, it is not collected through the Platform but arranged directly with the Provider. Depending on the listing, the price may be per person, according to tiers that depend on the number of participants, or a total for a group within a set range of participants. Public “from” prices show the lowest list price among a listing's paid packages other than trial offers, before any discount, registration fee or service fee, and do not guarantee that every date, group size or Customer qualifies. A listing may show “price on request” instead of a price; that price is agreed and paid directly with the Provider, outside the Platform.
Packages may be limited by listing, section, date, start rule, validity, number of sessions or credits, usage per week or month, participants or session length, and other rules shown with the package; unused sessions or credits lapse when the package expires. A package can be used only while it is active and paid: it cannot be used before its start date, while it is pending payment or paused, or after it has expired or been revoked. The Customer may ask the Provider to pause a package; the Provider decides, and, if it accepts, the package's validity is extended by the paused period. A Customer may let connected accounts use their package; bookings already made with it remain valid if this permission is withdrawn. Discounts on bookings and packages are set by Providers and do not stack: the Platform applies the single eligible discount that gives the largest reduction. In the e-shop, a seller's coupon may apply on top of a product discount or shop offer, as described in section 13.
Some packages are also offered as an auto-renewing subscription, payable by card only. The price, billing period and payment method are shown before purchase; once activated, the card is charged automatically at the start of each period through the payment provider, at the price (and with any discount) fixed at the first purchase and without a registration fee, until the subscription is stopped or, for seasonal packages, until the end of the season. A reminder is sent to the Customer before each renewal. The Customer may stop auto-renewal from their account; the stop takes effect at the end of the current paid period, which is not refunded unless the disclosed policy or mandatory law provides otherwise. If an automatic charge fails, the card is charged again once a day for up to three days; during that time auto-renewal cannot be stopped from the account and the package cannot be used for dates after the last paid period. If every attempt fails, the subscription ends.
11. Payments, fees and taxes
Card payments. Online card payments are processed by Stripe. A Provider that accepts online payments for bookings, packages or e-shop orders must have a Stripe Connect payment account that Stripe has activated; Stripe verifies the Provider's identity and business details itself. These payments are made directly to the Provider's Stripe account: the Provider is the merchant of the payment, and Stripe pays the money out to the Provider's bank account on Stripe's own schedule. Through Stripe, HobbyDetective receives only the service fee and, on e-shop orders, its commission. Stripe's processing fees are charged to the Provider's Stripe account and are calculated by Stripe on the whole amount charged, including the service fee and any registration fee. Disputes and chargebacks are handled by the Provider through its Stripe account. Payment-processing services for Providers are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement; by accepting card payments through the Platform, the Provider agrees to be bound by those terms, as modified by Stripe from time to time, undertakes to give us accurate and complete information about itself and its business, and authorises us to share that information and its transaction data with Stripe for the payment service. We do not store complete card details.
Service fee. On every online card payment made through the Platform — bookings, package purchases (and every automatic package renewal) and e-shop orders — the Customer pays, on top of the price, a “Service fee” of 5% of the amount of the payment, capped at €2 per payment. The fee is calculated on the amount paid by card, including any registration fee; on e-shop orders it is calculated on the value of the goods after any discount or coupon, excluding delivery, and in an order with products from several Providers the fee and its cap are calculated separately for each. The service fee includes VAT, is collected by HobbyDetective for the use of the Platform, is not part of the Provider's price and is always shown as a separate line before the payment is completed. An auto-renewing package keeps, on each renewal, the service fee shown when it was bought. When part or all of a payment is refunded through the Platform, the same share of the service fee is refunded to the Customer with it. Where a Provider makes a refund directly through Stripe, the amount refunded is set by the Provider and the corresponding share of the service fee is returned to the Provider.
Payments outside the Platform. Payments in cash, by card at the Provider's premises, by IRIS or by bank transfer are made directly to the Provider, are not processed by HobbyDetective and remain the parties' responsibility. They can be chosen at checkout only for Providers on a plan that includes them and only where the Provider has enabled them; auto-renewing packages are payable by card only, and e-shop orders may be settled outside the Platform only by IRIS or bank transfer. Where IRIS or bank transfer is chosen, the Platform shows the Provider's account details only to the Customer who has completed the booking, purchase or order, and allows that Customer to report that they have sent the amount. That report is a statement by the Customer and is not proof or confirmation of payment: HobbyDetective does not collect, hold or verify the money, and the booking, package or order remains unpaid until the Provider confirms receipt. For bookings and e-shop orders the Provider sets a deadline for sending the money, which is shown to the Customer and, for bookings, never falls after the start of the session; if it passes without the Customer having reported sending the money, the booking or order may be cancelled automatically and the place or reserved stock released. A booking or order whose payment the Customer has reported is not cancelled automatically; it stays pending until the Provider confirms receipt or the matter is settled between them. A package purchased this way has no deadline: it remains pending, and cannot be used, until the Provider confirms receipt or the Customer withdraws the purchase. Refunds of money paid outside the Platform are governed by the Provider's cancellation policy and are made by the Provider; HobbyDetective cannot refund amounts it never received. The service fee applies only to card payments processed through the Platform and is not charged on payments made outside it. Providers are responsible for their taxes, invoices and accounting obligations, including the documents they issue to Customers.
Provider platform fees. Current subscription prices and commission rates are shown on the Premium page and in the provider panel; commission rates include VAT. The commission on bookings and packages is not deducted from the Customer's payment. For every booking (including any balance of a booking of which only part was paid online), package sale and package renewal that is paid — through the Platform, or by an offline method that the Provider records in the Platform as received — HobbyDetective charges the Provider a separate platform fee at the booking commission rate of the Provider's plan when the payment is settled (for offline payments, when the Provider records it), calculated on the amount the Customer paid for the booking or package, excluding the Customer's service fee and any registration fee, which carries no commission. Sessions paid with package credits and free bookings are not charged. The Provider is notified of each fee and pays it to HobbyDetective within the period shown (currently 14 days), from the “Platform fees” page of the provider panel, by card, IRIS or bank transfer; a payment by IRIS or bank transfer counts as made once HobbyDetective confirms receipt. If the Customer is refunded through the Platform, an unpaid fee is reduced accordingly and a fee already paid becomes a credit against later fees; for money received outside the Platform, the fee is adjusted when the Provider records in the Platform that the payment was returned. Unpaid fees remain owed to HobbyDetective. Package subscriptions bought before separate platform-fee billing was introduced continue to have the commission withheld from each renewal payment, at the rate that applied when they were bought. Commission on e-shop orders paid by card is withheld from the payment through Stripe, at the rate of the seller's plan when the order is placed, on the value of the goods after discounts and excluding delivery, and is returned in proportion when the order is refunded; e-shop orders settled by IRIS or bank transfer carry neither commission nor the service fee.
12. Cancellations, refunds, no-shows and waitlists
Cancellation policy. Each Provider chooses the cancellation policy of its offerings. The policy that applies to a booking is the one shown before booking and recorded when the booking was made; later changes do not affect existing bookings. The Platform offers policies with free cancellation up to 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days before the start, a policy with a deadline set by the Provider, and a non-refundable policy. If a booking paid by card through the Platform is cancelled within the free-cancellation period, the whole amount paid by card — including the service fee and any registration fee — is refunded automatically to the original payment method; after the deadline, or under a non-refundable policy, no refund is due under the policy. Where a Provider has not set a cancellation policy, the listing says so and paid bookings are not refunded automatically. Some Providers settle cancellations by agreement (for example with another date) instead of an automatic refund; cancellations within the free-cancellation period are then arranged with the Provider through the Platform's messages. All of this applies without prejudice to mandatory law.
Cancellations and changes by the Customer. A booking can be cancelled from the Customer's account until the session starts, unless a package sets a last-minute limit or the booking concerns lessons that the Provider schedules itself (for example bookings made with package credits or entered by the Provider), in which case the Provider may keep cancellations and changes to itself and the Customer contacts it through the Platform. Where offered, a booking may be moved to another available session of the same listing or section at the same price; moving a booking after its free-cancellation deadline has passed does not restore the right to a free cancellation.
No-shows. A Customer who does not attend without cancelling is not refunded, unless the Provider has chosen to refund part of the price for no-shows; the Platform then refunds that part automatically, with the same share of the service fee. For packages, a no-show uses up the corresponding credit.
Cancellations and changes by the Provider. If the Provider cancels a booking or a session paid by card through the Platform, the amount paid by card is refunded in full automatically. A session that has not reached the minimum number of participants set by the Provider may be cancelled automatically before it starts, with a full refund of card payments. If the Provider moves a booking to another date or time, the Customer is notified; a Customer who does not accept the change may ask the Provider, through the Platform, to cancel the booking with a full refund. Package-credit restoration is not the same as a monetary refund.
Refunds. For card payments, a refund is complete only when the payment provider confirms it; bank and card-network times may delay receipt. If an automated refund fails or needs reconciliation, the booking may be cancelled while the refund is still pending; our support team and the Provider must cooperate to complete it. Revocation of a package by the Provider stops its automatic renewal, removes the remaining credits and cancels its future bookings, but does not itself refund money; any refund of a package is made by the Provider.
Waitlists. When a session is full, the Customer may join its waitlist free of charge; this does not guarantee a place. When a place becomes available, it is offered to the first person in line whose requested number of places fits, and is held exclusively for them for 30 minutes, or until the session starts if sooner. To take it, that person must complete the booking within that time through the normal flow, including payment where required; otherwise they leave the waitlist and the place passes to the next person. The Provider may also turn the offer into a booking for that person, who then pays it from their account.
13. E-shop orders, delivery and returns
The e-shop may not be available to every Provider or Customer. The seller of each product is the Provider shown on the product page; the seller is responsible for product legality, conformity, safety, description, stock, price, tax documents, packaging, delivery, customer service, cancellation, returns and statutory remedies, and must give Customers its full legal identity and contact details and the other information required by law. Only physical products can be bought through the e-shop. Products may be delivered to an address or collected from the seller, according to the options and costs the seller sets, which are shown before payment. A cart with products from several sellers is split into a separate order and a separate payment for each seller. Some products may be offered with a link to buy them on the seller's own website; such a purchase takes place outside the Platform.
A product's own discount and a shop-wide offer do not stack — the lower price applies — but one seller coupon may be applied per order on the prices after offers; coupons do not reduce delivery costs. Stock is reserved when the order is placed. An unpaid card order is cancelled when its payment session expires (currently 24 hours); an order to be settled by IRIS or bank transfer is cancelled if the Customer has not reported sending the money by the deadline the seller sets. The Customer may cancel an order, or ask the seller to cancel a paid order, within the cancellation period the seller sets; returns are requested from the order in the Customer's account and are handled by the seller. For card payments, a refund approved by the seller is made automatically to the original payment method; for IRIS or bank transfer, the seller refunds the Customer directly. Order and return statuses are operational records of the Platform.
Customers must provide a deliverable address and inspect order details before payment.
14. Consumer withdrawal and mandatory rights
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived. Where a consumer buys goods online, the consumer may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving reasons, subject to the exceptions provided by law (for example goods made to the consumer's specifications, or sealed goods unsealed after delivery for health-protection or hygiene reasons). A return period set by a seller on the Platform may be longer but cannot shorten this right. The seller is liable for any lack of conformity of the goods under the legal guarantee, independently of any return policy or commercial guarantee.
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance — such as a booking for a specific session — or in other cases excluded by law; the cancellation policy shown before booking then applies, without affecting any mandatory right. Where the right of withdrawal does apply to a service contract concluded through the Platform, the consumer may withdraw within 14 days of its conclusion by informing the Provider; if the consumer asked for the service to begin within that period, they pay for the part already provided. Each Provider must give Customers the legally required pre-contract information and handle withdrawal or remedy requests for the contract it supplies.
15. Free, Premium and Premium Plus subscriptions
Provider plans include Free, Premium and Premium Plus. The features, limits, prices, billing periods and commission rates of each plan are those shown on the Premium page and in the provider panel at the time of subscription or transaction. Prices and the billing period are fixed when a subscription is bought, and existing subscribers keep that price on renewal; commission is charged at the rate of the plan in force when each payment is settled (section 11). Changes to the features or limits of a plan are notified in accordance with section 25.
Unlike booking and package prices, Provider subscription prices are shown excluding VAT, which is added at the applicable rate and shown before payment. Paid subscriptions are charged by card through Stripe and renew automatically for the selected monthly or annual cycle until cancelled. If a renewal payment fails, the plan stays active for a short grace period while the card is charged again (currently once a day for three days); if every attempt fails, the subscription ends and the account moves to the Free plan.
The Provider may stop auto-renewal at any time from its account; access continues until the end of the paid period, and the cancellation can be withdrawn until then. Cancelling while a renewal payment is outstanding ends the paid plan immediately. Amounts already paid are not refunded, in whole or in part, for an unused period, a downgrade or a cancellation, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. Changes of plan or billing cycle are made by our team at the Provider's request; while free or promotional access is running, a paid plan cannot be bought at the same time.
Promotional access and rewards. We may give Premium or Premium Plus free of charge for a limited period — for example as a welcome offer to new Providers, through an invitation from our team, for each invited Provider who completes the setup of its account and publishes a listing, or once per account for switching on a booking mode. The conditions and duration of each offer are those shown when it is given. Promotional access needs no payment method and does not turn into a paid subscription: when it ends, the account moves to the Free plan unless the Provider has subscribed. Earned months that have not yet started begin automatically when no other plan is running, except the month for switching on a booking mode, which the Provider starts itself; while it runs alongside a monthly paid subscription, billing of that subscription is paused for the corresponding period. Invitations may be sent only to businesses that the inviting Provider has the right to contact, and an invitation cannot be credited to a Provider for itself or for a related account. Rewards have no cash value and cannot be transferred. We may withdraw or shorten promotional access or rewards granted by mistake, obtained through abuse (for example invitations of fictitious or related accounts) or in breach of these Terms, and may change or end future offers at any time.
When a paid or promotional plan ends, the Provider's data and listings are kept, but plan-only features stop or are hidden: among other things, the commission returns to the Free-plan rate; team members can no longer act for the Provider; participation requests and booking choices per listing stop — if the account takes participation requests, its listings take no bookings until the Provider chooses another booking mode, and listings with their own setting follow the account's mode; payments outside the Platform are no longer offered at checkout; videos, profile FAQs, website and social-media links and public contact details are hidden; and external booking links, corporate-activity pages and Premium Plus AI tools stop.
16. Artificial-intelligence (AI) features
The Platform uses artificial intelligence in the following ways. For Customers: an AI assistant that answers questions and recommends listings from the Platform's search results. For Providers: help drafting and improving texts; category, short-description and attribute suggestions; a support chat assistant; a listing fill-in assistant; a statistics summary; and a Premium Plus assistant that analyses participation requests and suggests replies. Listing, product and profile texts are also translated automatically into the Platform's other language when they are published, and the translation is published without a separate review.
The listing fill-in assistant first shows what it would fill in — including any prices it would create in the catalogue — and proceeds only once the Provider confirms; in the product editor, suggested category, short description and attributes are filled in automatically and can be changed before publication. No AI feature publishes a listing or sends a message to a Customer on a Provider's behalf. The Provider remains fully responsible for its Content, including automatic translations, and may ask us to correct a translation. To protect the service, conversations with AI assistants are classified automatically; access to the assistants may be suspended automatically after repeated extreme or abusive use, and our team is notified.
AI-generated content is produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for a specific case. Whoever uses it must check it before relying on it. Replies from AI assistants are informational, do not constitute legal, tax, medical or other professional advice, and do not amend these Terms or the prices and fees shown on the relevant pages and flows, which prevail. We use third-party AI providers to deliver these features; the related data processing, including transfers outside the European Union, is described in our Privacy Policy. Do not submit sensitive personal data, or third-party data that is not necessary, through AI features. Use is subject to reasonable limits, such as a daily allowance per Provider account (shared by its team) or per Customer; some features are available only on specific plans; and AI features may be modified, suspended or discontinued.
17. User Content, reviews and licence
You retain ownership of Content you submit. You grant HobbyDetective a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for as long as needed to provide and promote the Platform, to host, store, reproduce, format, translate, display, communicate and distribute that Content through the Platform and the promotional channels described above. This licence does not transfer ownership and ends when the Content is deleted, except for backups, legal retention, completed transactions and material already lawfully shared.
Reviews reach the Platform in four ways: (a) a review of a session, which can be written only for a booking that the Provider has marked as attended; (b) a review of a product, which can be written only for a paid order that has been delivered; (c) a review requested by a Provider from a person whom the Provider declares attended outside the Platform; and (d) a review of a Provider's profile, which any registered Customer may write, once per Provider, without a booking. Only reviews of types (a) and (b) are linked to a booking or an order on the Platform; HobbyDetective does not verify that the authors of types (c) and (d) used the Provider's services. Types (a), (c) and (d) count towards the Provider's rating, types (a) and (c) also towards the listing's rating, and type (b) towards the product's rating. Reviews are published immediately, without prior moderation; reviewers may choose to appear anonymously. Providers may reply once to each review and may report a review to us; they cannot delete or edit reviews.
Reviews and replies must reflect genuine experiences, be relevant and avoid personal data, threats, defamation, manipulation or incentives that distort authenticity. We may hide reviews that breach these rules or the law, and take the measures of section 18 for replies that do. A reviewer may ask us to remove their review. When an account is closed, its reviews remain published without the reviewer's name.
18. Prohibited use, content moderation and complaints
You must not use the Platform to break the law; infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights; publish false, unsafe, discriminatory, hateful, sexually exploitative, defamatory or fraudulent material; sell prohibited or recalled products; manipulate reviews, ranking, prices or availability; scrape or copy the Platform without permission; bypass security; spread malware or spam; impersonate another person; or misuse payment, refund, messaging or reporting systems.
How we moderate. Moderation is carried out by our team, after a report or on our own initiative; apart from the technical limits of the Platform (for example on uploads and message length), the automatic classification of AI-assistant conversations described in section 16 and a filter of prohibited words on attendance confirmations, no automated tools are used to detect or remove Content. Depending on severity, we may reject or unpublish a listing, hide a review, disable a product or a feature, suspend an account or preserve evidence, applying measures proportionately and with due regard to the rights of everyone involved.
Reporting illegal content. Anyone may report Content they consider illegal or contrary to these Terms by email to [email protected]; Providers may also report reviews from their panel. To help us act, a report should include the reasons why the Content is considered illegal, its exact address (URL), the reporter's name and email address (not required for reports of child sexual abuse material) and a statement that the reporter believes in good faith that the report is accurate and complete. We confirm receipt, examine reports in a timely, diligent and objective manner, and inform the reporter of our decision and of the available means of redress.
Statement of reasons and complaints. When we remove or restrict Content, or suspend or terminate an account or a service, we inform the user concerned of the decision and its reasons by email, unless the law prevents it or the Content is deceptive high-volume commercial content. The user may contest the decision by replying to that email or writing to [email protected] within six months; the complaint is reviewed by our team, and we inform the user of the outcome. This does not affect the right to apply to the competent authorities or courts.
Points of contact. Our single point of contact for users, and for the authorities of the Member States, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act), is [email protected]. Communications may be made in Greek or English.
19. HobbyDetective intellectual property
The Platform software, design, databases, brand, logos and original material supplied by HobbyDetective are protected by intellectual-property and related laws. Except where law permits otherwise, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell, license, frame or commercially exploit them without prior written permission. Rights in Provider and Customer Content remain with their respective owners, subject to the licence in section 17.
20. Third-party services and links
The Platform integrates or links to services operated by third parties, including Stripe for payments; Google for sign-in, maps and, if the user connects it, Google Calendar; Instagram and TikTok, where a Provider connects its account to show its posts; video hosts; email, hosting and infrastructure providers; AI providers; and Providers' own websites. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply. We are not responsible for an external website's independent content or service, but we remain responsible for selecting and using processors where the law makes us responsible.
21. Privacy, cookies and access to data
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we process it, who receives it, retention, international transfers and your rights. Our Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar technologies. Where a Provider receives Customer data for a booking, order or inquiry, that Provider acts under its own legal responsibilities and must use the data only for legitimate, disclosed purposes.
Data Providers enter about their own students. When a Provider uses the Platform's tools to keep its own records — for example lists of students, including people without an account or minors, their contact details, notes, attendance and any health information such as allergies or conditions — the Provider is the controller of those records and HobbyDetective processes them on its behalf as processor, in accordance with Article 28 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. In that capacity we: process the data only to provide the Platform and according to the Provider's instructions as expressed through its use of the Platform's features; ensure that our staff with access are bound by confidentiality; apply the security measures described in the Privacy Policy; use the sub-processors listed in the Privacy Policy and impose on them equivalent obligations — we announce changes to that list by updating the Privacy Policy, and a Provider may object to a new sub-processor by writing to us, in which case, if we cannot accommodate the objection, it may terminate its use of the Platform; assist the Provider, as far as possible, in responding to requests from data subjects and in meeting its security, breach-notification and impact-assessment obligations; inform the Provider without undue delay of a personal-data breach affecting its records; on termination, delete the records or return them at the Provider's request, unless the law requires their retention; and make available the information necessary to demonstrate compliance and allow for audits under reasonable conditions. The Provider is responsible for having a lawful basis and, for health information and wherever required, the explicit consent of the person or of the holder of parental responsibility, for informing those people, and for entering only the data it genuinely needs.
Access to data. HobbyDetective has access to all data that Providers and Customers provide or generate through the Platform — such as accounts, listings, bookings, orders, payments, messages, reviews and usage data — and uses it to operate, secure and improve the Platform and as described in the Privacy Policy. A Provider has access, through its panel, to the data of its own listings, bookings, orders, packages, participants, students, payments, messages and reviews, and to the statistics the panel shows for its own account; some statistics and exports depend on its plan. A Provider has no access to other Providers' data or to Customer data unrelated to its own transactions, and we do not give Providers aggregated data about the Platform as a whole. We do not sell Provider or Customer data; we share it with third parties only as described in the Privacy Policy, for example with Stripe for payments. After the contract ends, the Provider no longer has access to its panel and its data is deleted or retained as described in the Privacy Policy, so the Provider should keep any copies it needs before closing its account.
22. Restriction, suspension, termination and account closure
A Customer may close their account at any time from the account settings, after confirming their identity. Closure is not possible while there are future paid bookings, pending payments or open orders or returns; any automatic package renewals are stopped, and unused package credits are lost, after the Customer confirms this. A Provider may terminate its use of the Platform at any time by requesting the closure of its account from the provider panel; the request is completed once future bookings, open orders and returns, active packages and subscriptions and any pending financial matters have been settled, normally within 30 days. Paid subscriptions follow section 15.
We may restrict Content or suspend or terminate access for illegality, fraud, security risk, non-payment, inaccurate identity, unsafe conduct, repeated complaints, infringement of rights, misuse of the Platform or material or repeated breach of these Terms, and we inform the user of the reasons as described in section 18. For Providers, where Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 applies, we give a statement of reasons and an opportunity to clarify the facts before or when a restriction or suspension takes effect, and termination of the whole intermediation service is notified at least 30 days in advance, except where law, an imperative reason or repeated infringement permits immediate action. After closure, public Content is removed, while transaction, financial, security and legal records may be retained for the periods described in the Privacy Policy; reviews written by a closed Customer account remain published without the reviewer's name.
23. Platform changes and availability
We may maintain, update, secure, replace or discontinue features. Some features may be offered gradually or in a trial (beta) form and may change more often. We aim to keep the Platform available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, provider systems, internet conditions, force majeure, payment networks and third-party services may cause delays or outages.
We will take reasonable steps to protect active transactions and give appropriate notice of material changes. Nothing in this section allows us to avoid an obligation that mandatory law places on us.
24. Responsibility and limitation of liability
Each party is responsible for loss it causes through breach of contract, negligence, fraud or unlawful conduct. Providers are responsible for their listings, services, products, personnel, venues, safety, insurance, delivery and compliance. Customers are responsible for accurate information, lawful use, payment obligations and compliance with disclosed participation rules. Many activities involve physical effort or risk; Customers should follow the Provider's instructions and consider whether an activity is suitable for each participant.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HobbyDetective is not liable for a Provider's independent acts or omissions, indirect or unforeseeable loss, loss caused by incorrect user information, or events outside our reasonable control. We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so is prohibited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
25. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for legal, security, technical or business reasons. We publish the current version with its effective date and the date it was last updated, keep the previous version available, and notify users of significant changes through the Platform, email or another durable medium where required.
For Providers covered by Regulation (EU) 2019/1150, proposed changes are notified on a durable medium at least 15 days before they take effect, with a longer period where reasonable technical or commercial adaptation is needed. The notice period may not apply where law requires an earlier change or an unforeseen and imminent fraud, malware, spam, data-breach or cybersecurity risk must be addressed. A Provider that does not accept the changes may terminate its contract before they take effect, as described in section 22; a Provider may also waive the notice period by a clear affirmative action, such as submitting new listings or products during it. Changes do not apply retroactively.
26. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Greek law, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections available under the law of their habitual residence. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter. A complaint about an underlying service or product should also be addressed to the responsible Provider or seller.
Consumers may also refer a dispute to an alternative dispute-resolution body, such as the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr), or to the competent consumer-protection authorities. Nothing in these Terms restricts access to a competent authority, alternative dispute-resolution body or court. Jurisdiction is determined by applicable Greek and EU law; no clause in these Terms forces a consumer to give up a mandatory forum.
27. General provisions and contact
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or contractual rights without our consent, except where mandatory law or a Platform feature permits it (such as sharing a package with a connected account). Headings are for convenience and do not change meaning. These Terms are available in Greek and English.
